Spiritual Direction/Companioning
Sometimes we reach a point in our spiritual journey where we long for a companion, who is also on the path and can help discern our wonderings. That’s what a Spiritual Director does, a listening ear and a reflective voice to help us discern the wisdom of the divine within ourselves. The role of a spiritual director is to walk alongside you without judgment, gently guiding you toward self-discovery and understanding of where your path may lead. In a world where we often feel adrift, having someone to support us in finding our way can be a profound gift.
Sessions are scheduled on a monthly basis and typically run for approximately an hour. They can be conducted either virtually on Zoom or in person, based on the preference of the participant.
During sessions a moment of silence marks the beginning, allowing both individuals to center themselves and invite the presence of the spirit into their midst. Following this serene start, the person in direction shares the various callings that have arisen since the previous gathering.
Spiritual direction is considered by many to be a valuable practice for cultivating a deeper awareness of the divine presence in one's life. This guidance offers individuals the opportunity to explore their spirituality, reflect on their beliefs, and deepen their connection to something greater than themselves. Through conversation, reflection, and prayer, spiritual direction can provide a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their faith and discern the presence of the divine in their everyday experiences.
